Professional Growth in a Changing Environment | Panel Discussion with IFSL Director

2020 Food Safety Consortium Virtual Conference Series

FoodSafetyTech's FoodSafety Consortium Conference & Expo

Each year, Food Safety Tech invites leaders from the global food industry together for their annual conference and expo. The educational event brings together expert-led conversations and industry-learnings on topics such as science, technology and compliance.

With food safety, integrity and defense being more important now than ever, this year’s conference from Food Safety Tech will be held virtually so leaders in the industry can share learnings during a year full of swift changes.

Held online every Thursday through Dec. 17, 2020, the Food Safety Consortium Virtual Conference Series will host three-to-four-hour weekly broadcasts of themed presentations and panel discussions, with a focus of COVID-19 on the food industry.

On Thursday, Nov. 5, Dr. Jennifer van de Ligt – director of University of Minnesota’s Integrated Food Systems Leadership (IFSL) program and the Food Protection and Defense Institute – will share her expertise on our ever-essential global food system for a panel discussion about professional development and women in food safety.

Working with food producers and manufacturers to analyze and understand the vulnerabilities of our complex food system, Dr. van de Ligt uses learnings from these interactions as she leads the IFSL program mission to prepare food system leaders to feed the future.

The focus of the Food Safety Consortium on Nov. 5 is professional development and women in food safety. Dr. van de Ligt will join six other industry professionals and academic leaders for a panel discussion on how female and young professionals can develop skills for success in a dynamic and changing environment, including career advice for those looking to grow in the food system.

For those unable to attend the Nov. 5th virtual panel discussion, the conversation will be recorded. To learn more about the Food Safety Consortium Virtual Conference Series and to register, visit:
